I received a Purchase Order from my customer. How is that reflected on my accounting books?

PO's are non-posting. Meaning, no actual accounting transaction posts in QBO (or Pocket). PO's are not considered sales/revenue, and are not tracked or recorded in your P&L. Your revenue will be recognized only when you issue an invoice to that customer that sent you the PO. Once an invoice is issued, Pocket pulls the invoice and corresponding sales and accounts receivable are recorded in Pocket and QBO.

Since there is no accounting transaction with customer PO's, if you want to track your PO amount, this could be a manual footnote that you could add to your P&L. To do this, we recommend you download your P&L, and manually add a PO line, or “Contracted Value” line on top of your Sales/Revenue line on your P&L. Then, you can enter/track this on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
