Feature: Lock and unlock
User Problem:
Due to the "real-time" data ingestion feature, a historical month's data may be updated by newly ingested data from our data providers, such as Plaid (for bank/credit card transactions).
Additionally, once a month's books are reviewed and signed off by our customers and CPAs, customers often want to "lock" the books to preserve the historical record.
Solution:
Pocket has introduced a "Lock" function. Users can access this feature in the "Manage plan" section by clicking "Lock date," selecting a date, and then clicking "Lock." This action locks all data processing work prior to the chosen date, preventing any data ingestion or updates to transactions before this point.
Users can return to this page at any time and click "Unlock" to remove the transaction processing freeze. This allows potential future updates, such as vendor rule changes, to be applied to transactions prior to the previously locked date.
