How does Pocket handle Paypal or other similar payment gateways?

Some commerce platforms, like Shopify, offer customers many different ways of paying. For example, it's very common for CPG companies to allow their customers to pay via Paypal for orders placed via Shopify. In this case, Paypal is simply a payment gateway. Therefore, if you've created a Paypal account for this purpose, you should not connect it to Pocket. Instead, we highly recommend that you transfer money from your Paypal account to your checking account as frequently as possible so that you have that cash available for your working capital. These transfers from Paypal to your checking account are treated as Shopify payouts, thus they would be categorized to the account, "Shopify Receivables." This results in a reduction to your Shopify Receivables balance since Shopify owes you less money now.
